RAINBOW OF HOPE

The grim reaper has been busy during the Covid-19 pandemic. When arrows of sickness and death are being hurled at a helpless population we have been reminded of a bow that is empty of arrows and contains only a message of love and beauty. The rainbow teaches us that in a broken world true love, hope and peace can only be found in a gracious God, because He alone is love.
Some have speculated that Covid-19 is a consequence of God’s judgement upon us for our sins. I do not deny that we deserve judgement but the Bible depicts a God whose nature is balanced – holy and just on the one hand but long suffering and kind on the other. Therefore in the darkest place we are never without hope as long as God exists.

A GOOD WORD FOR A BAD DAY

His plans for His people are filled with peace and not with evil. His timetable, not measured according to our reckoning, is secure nevertheless. He will bring this crisis to an end, when we shall gather with our families and the Lord’s people once again. And His timing will be perfect.

MY REDEEMER LIVETH

Job was strengthened in soul through seeing by faith the eternal weight of glory which make even his extreme brokenness fade away as an irrelevance. A view of eternity is the great hope for the child of God. Our Heavenly Father has His own precious ways of giving us renewed hope in hours of earthly trial. He is truthfully the God of all grace.

THE GOD OF ALL GRACE IN THE LIFE OF JOB (1) BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD

There are few books of Scripture so applicable and appropriate for this current time in which we dwell, as Job. The grief and the pain experienced by this man assist us in understanding the mysteries of providence , in permitting His people to suffer.
